Maccheroni is an Italian restaurant located in Rome’s city center, which was recommended to us by an Italian friend. She claimed to have eaten the best pasta of her life there, so you can only imagine how high our expectations were. And we were not disappointed!
We went there during the weekend, and the restaurant was packed with local families and friends enjoying lunch. We loved the atmosphere and unpretentious vibe – it’s a down to earth place with some tasteful details.
The food is incredible! So incredible that we regret not going back on the next day. I had the Caccio and Pepe pasta (it’s CRAZY good!!), although the Carbonara is supposed to be their most popular dish. Everything is made with the freshest Italian ingredients, and it’s simply delicious!!
Wrapping up: was it the best pasta of our lives? Uf, that’s a hard statement. But it definitely got stuck in our minds and went straight to the podium.
