Autentis hotel has suffered a renovation for the summer of 2021, and we couldn’t help to check it out during our time in the Dolomites.
Tucked away amid the quietness of the surrounding mountains, its location is super convenient, close to sights like Lake of Braies or Kronplatz. As Steiner family states, Autentis is all about genuine experiences. Their goal is to guarantee their guests have a unique and unforgettable taste of the real South Tyrol living.
Even though part of the structure is brand new, you can recognize the effort to maintain the Tyrolean style. The hotel is focusing on keeping the tradition alive while still adapting to modern times:
- They use green energy from 100% hydropower from South Tyrol;
- Around 80% of the products come from South Tyrol or directly from local farmers;
- They used local construction companies and materials during the renovation works.
Using their own words, they “think internationally while acting regionally”. We believe it really sums up their philosophy, and we couldn’t be more proud to share its example!
Our Alpine Suite was excellent! It was mainly furnished with wood, had a lot of storage space, and had a balcony with some beautiful views of the mountains. The cherry on top was definitely the cinema corner where we’ve spent the night watching some movies. We could’ve stayed for a week!
The hotel offers a wellness center with sauna facilities, steam baths, a relaxing area, and a fitness room. The indoor pool is nice, but nothing beats the outdoor one! I mean, look at these pictures!
We typically don’t have dinner at hotel restaurants. We feel that many times they don’t respect the local cuisine and just focus on pleasing the average international traveler. We’re so glad we’ve decided to give Autentis a try! The food was delicious and we got to try different plates based on the Austrian/German cuisine – not only the Italian one! The dinner can be included in the room rate so we say to give this one a go as you’ll have a meal just as good as you would at a local restaurant! Probably even better!
And since we’re talking about food, no guest can miss a visit to the Butchery Steiner! Led by the Steiner family for some generations, the butcher Steiner is one of four licensed manufacturers of the certified Bauernspeck. If you’re interested, you can even participate in an exclusive Speck tasting!
You’ll find a great variety of South Tyrolean specialties that were carefully selected to meet high-quality standards. Make sure you arrange extra space on your baggage for the number of gift baskets you’ll want to take to your loved ones!
Last but not least, allow us to highlight the wonderful staff that welcomed us! Having a familiar atmosphere while maintaining a top-performance service might seem like a challenge. But Autentis is nailing it.
