Everything about Casal dos Capelinhos made us feel at home. If you’re going to spend a couple of days in Douro Valley and still don’t know where to stay, we would definitely recommend you to take a look at this post!
Casal dos Capelinhos is located in Peso da Regua, which is a great starting point for visiting the Douro Valley.
We’ve stayed in one of their double rooms since everything else was already fully booked. And by taking a look at their suites, we totally regret not having made this decision sooner! They seem absolutely amazing and well worth the extra money.
However, we can’t complain. Our room had a wonderful view of the vineyards, and we were welcomed with a delicious Port wine.
The common areas have some lovely details that resembles home. You’ll never feel like you’re in a hotel! If you’re lucky enough to be there on a hot day, you can take a dip in their outdoor swimming pool, which is surrounded by a beautiful setting!
We must highlight the kindness and friendly attitude of all the staff! They gave us the absolute best tips to see the region and helped us with our weekend itinerary. We felt like we were staying at a friend’s home, with all the treats of a great hotel. Including a breakfast to die for, with local and homemade products – you better not schedule any early lunches!
We had the most pleasant days during our stay at Casal dos Capelinhos! If you’re looking for a luxurious experience in an important Vineyard of the Region with panoramic river views, then Casal dos Capelinhos may not be the perfect choice. But if you prefer to stay close to great restaurants, with easy access to all the main sites, and love the feeling of boutique hotels, don’t think twice! We would recommend it to everyone wanting to explore this beautiful region of Portugal.
