It’s not a secret we’ve fallen in love with Seydisfjordur. And choosing to stay in Hafaldan HI Hostel definitely helped! This old building was renovated and turned into a beautiful hostel with joyful energy and good vibes ( we must say we had some reservations regarding the fact that it was once a hospital). We loved to meet the members of the staff, including a kiwi girl who decided to move to Iceland as soon as she landed. Her story and love for the country – and specifically for Seydisfjordur – got stuck in our minds until this day.
We’ve stayed in a big double room with a private bathroom. Everything was clean, and the view was simply charming. The common spaces were equally delightful: the kitchen was to die for. You’ll find a parking area right in front of the hostel, and you won’t need to use the car during your visit – everything you might need is within walking distance.
One of the best places we’ve stayed in Iceland. The only regret? Not getting the chance to stay a few more days!
