HOY Paris – A Mindful Escape in the Heart of Pigalle

After months of navigating sleepless nights, sticky fingers, and the beautiful chaos of new parenthood, we finally did something big: we took a trip without the baby.

This was our first escape in another country as just us again—no diaper bags, no bedtime routines, no white noise machines humming in the background. Just two parents running on empty, looking for quiet, comfort, and a little rediscovery. And honestly? We couldn’t have chosen a better place than HOY Paris

We stumbled on HOY—short for “House of Yoga”—while dreaming up our Paris plans and craving a hotel that wasn’t just a place to sleep. We wanted somewhere to recharge. Not just physically, but mentally and emotionally. HOY is tucked along Rue des Martyrs, in the heart of the 9th arrondissement, but it felt worlds away from the noise and pace of the city.

The moment we walked in, everything slowed down. The air smelled like eucalyptus and wood. The space was warm and minimalist, designed to soothe, not stimulate. We didn’t realize how much we needed that until we felt it.

No TV, just a big cozy bed, a ballet barre for stretching, a stack of yoga books, and windows that spilled soft light onto the wood floors. It was like the hotel gave us permission to just be. To nap. To stretch. To talk. To be quiet.

We had every intention of joining a yoga class at HOY’s dreamy, candlelit studio. But life had other plans. Catarina had been under the weather just before we left for Paris, and once we got there, we quickly realized our schedule was already full—with naps, late breakfasts, and slow walks through the city. And honestly, that felt just right. HOY gave us permission to rest in our own way. Even without stepping on a yoga mat, we still soaked in the calm, the quiet, and the gentle reminder to move at our own pace.

The 100% plant-based HOY’s restaurant, Mesa, deserves its own little love letter. And let’s not forget to mention their in-house flower shop—La Florería.  The moment you walk in, you’re wrapped in the scent of fresh blooms and soft earth. It was the kind of unexpected detail that made HOY feel less like a hotel and more like a home curated for the soul.

During our last time in Paris, we wandered through Pigalle neighborhood and though: “we need to stay here next time”. It is the perfect balance of local charm and city energy. You can’t help but stop in little bakeries, bookstores and the coolest restaurants in town.

If you’re thinking of a wellness-focused getaway—whether you’re a new parent or just someone in need of a reset—HOY Paris might just be your perfect exhale.
