It can be a bit overwhelming deciding where to stay in Douro Valley Region. There’s no shortage of top-notch places to choose from, and many of them combine wineries, restaurants, and accommodation. After a lot of research, we’ve decided we couldn’t pick just one. So, after checking out from Casal dos Capelinhos, we were ready to explore Quinta do Ventozelo.
From the moment you pass the front gate, you feel like you’ve entered a dream world. Even before arriving at the reception, we had to stop twice to soak up the views! Every little corner of this place has the most charming details, and the rooms are no exception. If your budget allows, definitely book a room with a view. They are well worth the extra money.
One night may not be enough to enjoy all the things you can do in Ventozelo. We didn’t get the time to try a wine tasting (we probably “tasted” too much wine during that weekend anyway), but we totally recommend you to do so. They even have an app that you can download, with all the multiple trails you can take and the different stories of the places you’ll pass along the way! The breakfast is a real feast: trust us, you can easily skip lunch that day. Last but not least, look at this infinity pool, with these mesmerizing panoramic views. The pictures pretty much talk for themselves.
Honestly, we can not recommend Ventozelo enough. It was the perfect way to end our Douro Valley getaway, and we constantly dream of going back.
